Many Bothans died to bring you this photo

Last night I went to see The Arcade Fire at the Variety Playhouse. I have to admit; I went into this concert with a somewhat negative attitude. After all, any band whose debut album has this much buzz couldn't possibly live up to the hype. Congratulations to The Arcade Fire for proving me wrong. The show was incredible. The only negative thing about the night was when some security guard hassled me for taking pictures. He told me if I took my camera out of my pocket again, he would throw me out. Umm... ok? I wasn't even using my flash. After the show, I checked my ticket and the lobby, and I still couldn't find any sign or notice forbidding photography. I asked the door guy for the scoop. Apparently, the band was afraid my picture-machine would steal a piece of their soul and had made the no-photography request. Call me old-fashioned, but if I pay $15 to see your band play, I think I should be able to take pictures of you. So, long story short, props to The Arcade Fire for rocking my face, but anti-props for their camera-phobia.
