Tangstache 2005

The Bearfoot HookersMy friends and I from Tri Chi are putting on a special charity concert for victims of Hurricane Katrina. The event will take place on Saturday, September 17, at Mulligan's in Oakhurst (Home of the Hamdog and the Luther Burger). The show starts at 9 PM and there will be a $5 cover charge, which will be going to the American Red Cross.

First up will be my new band, Attractive Eighties Women. We haven't been playing very long, but I like to call our type of music "awesome!core"... Following us, if the entire crowd hasn't left, will be Nashville's number one Japanese folk sensation, Masa! If you haven't had an opportunity to see Masa before, please don't miss him. You can hear some of his music over at MySpace. Next will be Morning After, the band of my friend and Paste magazine writer, Steve LaBate. Finally, headlining the event will be one of my favorite bands, The Bearfoot Hookers. If you've never been to a Hookers show, then this is your chance. They don't play Atlanta very often, so consider yourselves lucky to have this opportunity to see them without driving all the way to Athens. If you'd like to check out their music, then visit their website, where both of their albums are available as mp3s.

All of these bands are playing for free and all the money made at the door will be going straight to the Red Cross's hurricane relief efforts. I hope to see you all there to help support this important cause!
