stealth sharks
U.S. scientists are creating stealth sharks! When I first read this story, it was on Al Jazeera's website and I was skeptical of its truth (does that make me racist?). Now I have seen the story in several other places.
Forgetting about the ethical rammifications of this technology, if this could be perfected, it could give scientists a very powerful tool not only for spying, but also for studying other sharks.

yes, i am having a hard time getting around those ethical ramifications of this technology. I think in the end, especially if the government gets involved, it will only end up badly for the animals. Yes? No? Yes.
This reminds me of the reports that said Navy (or something) Dolphins with dart guns attached to them had gotten loose after a hurricane last summer.
I'd wager there is a race between Govt. R&D houses to see if we move forward with animal assisted technology, or full on robots.
